Overview
Young Kālar are shown in modern times in the body of a young child where as older Kālar are shown to inhabit the bodies of dragons, both have the ability to materialize in an individual’s dreams. Note that most commonly seen are the young Kālar, most of the older species tend to stay in remote and isolated areas.
----
The water Kālar have webbed feet so their prints are usually mistaken for a frogs; making them harder to identify. However upon a closer examination one can see that at the end of each toe there is an indent made from a small claw. Also the water Kālar are the only ones of the species to have the horns of a reindeer
Fire Kālar have a very similar foot print to the Komodo dragon; short rather fat fingers with long, thick claws on the end. Each fire Kālar has a distinctive solar flare marking around their navel. For each Kālar there is a different marking, no solar marking is the same. Each one has a crescent shaped blade fastened to the end of their tail for extra protection
Earth Kālar mainly burrows under ground so their eye sight is not very keen; however their sense of smell and taste is exceptional. They have small very sharp claws specially designed for clawing and digging; their foot print rightfully so resembles a badgers. Earth Kālar are also the only ones of the species to have fur cover 90% of their bodies
Not much is
known about the Wind Kālar as they do not come down very often. From the
information gathered by the few sightings one can gather that they are all
light in color; usually pastel colors. Their footprints are virtually un noticeable
for when they land it is only the very tip of their toes that touch the ground
making their print just a simple circular intend. Wind Kālar’s markings are
also unknown
The word Kālar [kay-lar] derives from the Greek phrase δράκος πνεύμα, via Latin draco animositas meaning dragon spirit
The Greek and Latin term referred to any children that where born with horns and a tail. Families with a Kālar birth are considered lucky and are blessed with good fortune. Around their 5th birthday they begin to show signs of what family they belong to. The process takes about a year and on the 6th year they leave their birth home in search of a new home.
Until recent times it was thought that Kālar stayed in their original forms until death. In the early 18th century fossils where found of what looked like a dragon displaying the characteristics of a Kālar thus the discovery of adult and ancient Kālar was made.
Each Kālar has their own unique behaviour so it is impossible to record a general behaviour for the species
Diet
Both young and old Kālar will eat what they can; they are not a picky species. However every Kālar also has the ability to eat dreams, making it impossible for the host to remember anything about that dream.
